Valentine's Day is a traditional celebration of Anglo-Saxon countries that has been implemented in other countries throughout the twentieth century, mainly on the lovers, boyfriends or husbands express their love and affection each other. In some countries is known as Valentine's Day and others like Day of Love and Friendship

Several theories give this date the origin of Valentine's Day

Some believe it is a Christianized pagan festival, as in ancient Rome was made the worship of the god of love, whose Greek name was Eros, whom the Romans called Cupid. This celebration is called God's favor through gifts or offerings to achieve and find the ideal love.

Today on 14 February is a celebration in which people give some presents like flowers, chocolates and cuddly toys to your loved ones showing their love and affection.

    THANKSGIVING DAY (TURKEY DAY)
This day is really special for American people, because it has a sentimental meaning, about friendship between people and it’s celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Thanksgiving in North America had originated from a mix of European and Native traditions. Typically in Europe, festivals were held before and after the harvest cycles to give thanks to God for a good harvest, to rejoice together after much hard work with the rest of the community.
These settlers, later called Pilgrims left England because they wanted to secede from the established church and worship God in their own way. After leaving England, the Pilgrims settled in Holland in 1608. Finally in 1620 embarked on the "Mayflower" seeking religious freedom in the New World. Their original destination was the colony of Jamestown, Virginia, but a storm brought them out of their way and arrived in November 1620 at the North of Plymouth, Massachusetts. The first winter was filled of hardship for the settlers, more than a half people of the colony died of starvation and disease. However, those who survived continued to fight in the spring and planted his first crop of corn. Squanto, an Indian warrior, became their friend and taught the colonists how to plant and cultivate corn, and helped establish good relations with neighboring Indian tribes.
In the fall of 1621, after a good harvest, Governor Bradford proclaimed a "day of giving thanks to God for us in a special way, rejoicing after picking the fruit of our work".
In a gesture of friendship, the Pilgrims invited the Indians together neighbors to a party, in which they share turkeys and geese, corn, lobster, clams, zucchini, pumpkins and dried fruits.
